CLARK, Janet Elizabeth (nee Leawood) - Passed on Monday, August 4, 2014 at the age of 78. Born August 15, 1935 in St. John's, Newfoundland, Janet will be remembered by all those whom she touched with her friendship, laughter and love. Loving Mother to Karen, Michael and John. Predeceased by son Peter and daughter-in-law Susan. Cherished Nanny to Lee Allison. Loving sister to Bernard (Lily) and "Nanny" to Lucy and Francesca. Former wife to John Clark Sr. She will be greatly missed by her dearest friend Betty (and family) and by all of her good friends at the Scarborough YMCA. The family would like to thank the staff at Houses of Providence for their years of loving care and kindness. A special thank you to Josie, Cora and Shelly. Janet will be remembered for her generous volunteer work in the community, including for the Bellmere Parent Teachers Association, the Scarborough Board of Health and Scarborough Centenary Hospital, to name a few organizations. Her adventurous spirit and lust for life allowed Janet the courage and freedom to accomplish anything! Her principles and values made her a positive role model to many. The family will be receiving guests on Thursday, August 7th from 5 to 7 p.m. at McDougall & Brown Funeral Home, 2900 Kingston Road, Scarborough. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Scleroderma Society of Ontario.
