Hartman, James "Pat" TROY James "Pat" Hartman, 79, passed away on Saturday, August 15, 2009 surrounded by loved ones at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany. Pat valiantly battled a long illness before succumbing on Saturday. Pat is survived by his beloved wife, Iola M. Dunphy Hartman of 50 1/2 years. Pat also leaves behind a sister, Connie (Alfred "Yaffy") Lombardo of Boca Raton, Fla.; sister-in-law, Doris (Anthony) Corina of Troy; niece, Cindy (Daniel) Mahoney of Watervliet; nephews, Angelo (Heidi) Corina of Brunswick, Anthony (Sherrie Ide) Corina Jr. of Latham and Alfred "Yaffy" Lombardo of Baca Raton, Fla.; great-nephews, Daniel C. Mahoney, Craig A. Mahoney, Jamie J. Mahoney, Calogero Corina and great-nieces, Carissa (Matt) Charton and Carly Corina. Pat was born in Albany on December 3, 1929, the son of the late Ernest and Esther Rodgers Hartman. He was a 1948 graduate of St. Anne's School in Albany. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and fought in the Korean War. Pat then began working for Niagara Mohawk in 1953 until he retired 41 years later in 1994. Pat was a member of Niagara Mohawk's Retirement Club East and enjoyed monthly retiree luncheons. Pat has also been an active member of his church, most recently at Our Lady of Victory Church and St. Anthony's Church in Troy where he was an usher for 25 years. Pat was a member of the Colonie Elks Lodge #2192 and was a longtime member of the C.R.A.B. Club in Troy. Pat was a man who loved life. He touched the lives of all those around him with his kindness and wide smile. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. The funeral will be Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. from the Doran Funeral Home, 9 South Lake Avenue, Troy and at 9:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Victory Church, Troy where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by his friends, Rev. Joseph Barker and Deacon Jerry Christiano. Entombment, St. Mary's Mausoleum, Troy.
