August 9, 2005 James H. McMahon, age 67, passed away on Tuesday, August 9, 2005, in Roanoke, Virginia, after a sudden illness. Funeral services were held on Saturday, August 13, 2005, in Portage, Wisconsin. Burial followed at Hillside Ceme-tery in Poynette, Wisconsin, with military graveside services provided by Portage area veterans. McMahon was born on June 10, 1938, in Portage, Wisconsin, the son of Harold and Evelyn McMahon. The family moved to Hammond, Indiana, where he attended school before entering the U.S. Air Force. McMahon retired from DFA-Haylor, an agricultural insurance company, on January 1, 2004. McMahon founded the company located in Syracuse, New York, and served as its CEO before moving to Roanoke, Virginia. McMahon is survived by his wife, Wilma; three sons, Howard in Wisconsin, Adam in Virginia, and Albert in Syracuse; two daughters-in-law, Kim and Karen; and five grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, Howard in Illinois and Robert in Michigan, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial donations may be made to the National D-Day Memorial, P.O.
