McMahon, James D.James D. McMahon, age 90 of Bridgeport, died Friday October 18, 2013 surrounded by his loving family. Mr. McMahon was born in Harlem, New York and was an area resident most of his life. He retired as an Assistant Fire Chief for the Bridgeport Fire Department after 31 years of dedicated service.. Jim was a US Navy veteran serving during WWII where he served in Kodiak Alaska. He was a member of BARF, Catholic War Veterans and was an avid New York Yankees Fan. He was predeceased by his loving wife Gladys Erickson McMahon and a daughter Kathleen McMahon. He is survived by his devoted son and daughter-in-law John and Eleanor McMahon, of Stratford. Four cherished grandchildren; Elizabeth Yatsinko and her husband Dan, and Pamela, James and John McMahon, one loving great grandson Eric Yatsinko and several nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to attend his Funeral on Tuesday at 9:45 from the Larson Funeral Home, 2496 North Ave, Bridgeport and at 10:30 am at the Cathedral of St. Augustine for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be in Mt. grove Cemetery in Bridgeport with full Military Honors. Friends may call at the Funeral Home on Monday from 4 to 8 pm. Donations may be made to the CT.
