HADDEN, James Bell It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of James Hadden, a true gentleman, scholar and mentor. Surrounded by his adoring family, he died peacefully at the Ottawa Civic Hospital Friday, November 17, 2006, at the age of 81. Born in Edinburgh, Scotland, he was the beloved husband of the late Jean Hadden. Loving father of George Hadden (Kelly), Christine Paterson (John), Susan Conrad (Mark) and David Hadden (Janet). Cherished grandpa to Brett, Scott, Jessica, Kyle, Brittany, Harley, Kody, Bradley, Patrick and Logan and great-grandpa to Sydney, Brandon and Billy. He will be sorely missed by his family in Britain and Canada including his brothers John, Davie, George, sister-in-law Chrissie and all of their extended families. Fondly remembered by Don Paterson and Jane-Lynne Hadden (Larry). A special thank you to nurse Erica. A man of many talents, James served in the RAF during the Second World War training as a fighter pilot. He came to Canada in 1952 settling in Toronto where he began a lengthy career with Bell Canada, which brought him to Ottawa in 1968. James was a gentle, generous man who was a stickler for details. He spent countless hours drafting charts, gathering data, offering advice to his family and watching soccer and golf. Friends may visit Tuesday, November 21, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Westboro Chapel of Tubman Funeral Home, 403 Richmond Road, Ottawa. A celebration of Jimmy's life will take place Wednesday, November 22, at 11 a.m. at the chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of your choice.
