Irene "Nan" (Wood) Lee, 104, of Andover, beloved wife of the late Henry Lee peacefully passed away at home on Thursday, February 16, 2012 with her loving grandchildren at her side. Nan was born on December 10, 1907 in Framingham, MA daughter of the late Elvin and Hattie (Haynes) Wood. She had resided in East Pembroke, MA before moving to Andover in 1979 to be closer to her family. Prior to her retirement in 1977, Nan was Postmaster for the town of East Pembroke, MA for over 35 years. She enjoyed gardening, knitting, sewing and most of all caring for her grandchildren and great-grandson. Nan loved to spend time at her summer cottage in Brant Rock, MA and at her time share in Aruba where she traveled to for over 10 years. She is survived by her three devoted grandchildren; Jay Hegener of Andover, Suzanne Hegener of Manchester and Mindy Hegener of Andover, her great-grandson, Jesse Hegener of Manchester, her son-in-law Bill Hegener of Andover and his sister, Diane Hegener of Columbia and Nan's only nephew, Robert Wood of West Barnstable, MA. In addition to her husband and parents Nan was predeceased by her beloved daughter, Nancy (Lee) Hegener and her brother, Justin Wood. Burial was in Mayflower Cemetery, Duxbury, MA.
