Henry A. Daigneault -- August 13, 1920 - September 7, 2005 -- PLAINFIELD- God called Henry A. Daigneault to Heaven in the early morning hours of Wednesday September 7, 2005 at W. W. Backus Hospital in Norwich.Henry, a beloved husband, father grandfather and great grandfather could not recover from a heart attack he had suffered a few days previous."Pa" as he was commonly referred to by his many grand and great grandkids, loved his Boston Red Sox and took great pride and pleasure in watching them win the World Series in 2004.Henry was born August 13, 1920 to the late Fred and Exerina (Alix) Daigneault in Wauregan. A lifelong resident of The Villages in Plainfield and Wauregan, Henry proudly served his country in World War II in the United States Navy, from where he was honorably discharged in January of 1946 as a Quartermaster 3rd Class.Henry's vocation as a machinist only allowed him the chance to help enrich others with his always enthusiastic attitude. Working at Majestic Metals, Martin Manufacturing, Artistic Wire and Eastern Wire, Henry retired in 1989 to his real passion which was maintaining his immaculate farm house in Killingly with Helen. Henry is survived by his wife of 63 years, Helen (Olearos) Daigneault of Plainfield; his daughter Jackie Muzljakovich and her husband John of Killingly; his five grandchildren, Jeff Muzljakovich of Plainfield, Dawn Deary of Brooklyn, Pauline Moore of Killingly, Melissa Mariano of Hong Kong and John Muzljakovich of Killingly. Henry is also survived by his ten great grandchildren, Samantha and Michael Muzljakovich of Plainfield, Gene Michael, Taylor, Nicolette and Jacqueline Deary of Brooklyn, Gabrielle and Sophia Moore of Killingly and Mia and Jackson Mariano of Hong Kong.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, September 14, 2005 at 11:30AM in St. John the Apostle Church, Plainfield. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Red Cross, Flood Victims Relief Fund, 150 Eugene O'Neill Dr., New London, CT 06320. Dougherty Bros. Funeral Home, Plainfield has been entrusted with the arrangements.
