Helen J. Darling, 89, of Rochester, passed away peacefully at the Aaron Manor Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Fairport, NY on March 23, 2014. She was predeceased by her parents, Lola and John Lambrinos of Fulton and is survived by her son, John Darling (Denise) of Pittsford; granddaughters, Johnna Darling of Tampa and Jennifer Darling of East Rochester; and great-granddaughter, Vanessa Koon and great-grandson, Ethan Koon of East Rochester. Helen was a life-long resident of Fulton, N Y. She was an Army veteran having served as a nurse Second Lieutenant from 1945 through the early 1950s in hospitals in New Jersey and Washington, D.C. She was employed for over 20 years with the Oswego County Department of Social Services, serving as a case worker and a supervisory of the Child Protective Unit. Helen was a member of Zonta and the Order of the Eastern Star. Burial arrangements will be privately held. The family wishes to thank the staff at Aaron Manor Rehabilitation and Nursing Center for their wonderful care and compassion provided during Helen's illness.
