OKEECHOBEE - Helen Clifford, age 72, died Saturday, Feb. 19, 2011, at her home. She had been a resident of Okeechobee for 11 years. Helen enjoyed playing bingo, watching movies, traveling, and crocheting. She was an extraordinary cook and outstanding mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband Bruce; sons, Mark Alan Clifford, Kenneth Andrew Clifford, Raymond Scott Clifford; brothers, John and Raymond Augusto; and sister, Carole Matthews. Survivors include daughters, Deborah R. Simpson of Burke, Va., Elizabeth A. Clifford of Okeechobee, Laura M. George of Burke, Va., Edith A. (Michael) Brendel of Okeechobee, and Gayla M. (Edward) Clifford of Rex, Ga.; brothers, Michael Augusto of Sulton, Mass., Richard Augusto of Las Vegas, Nev.; and sisters, Jeanne (Frank) Brick of Las Vegas, Nev., and Mary Ann Augusto of Worcester, Mass.; grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be 1 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 26, 2011, at St. Teresa Catholic Church in Buckhead Ridge.
