Harry L. Nelson -->Harry L. Nelson, 77, of Bridgewater, passed away Tuesday, July 13, 2010, at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Boston, surrounded by his family after a long struggle with heart disease. He was the husband of the late Camille (Porazzo) Nelson who passed away in April of this year. Born Oct. 17, 1932, in Brockton, he was a son of the late Roy and Violet (Chapman) Nelson. He attended Brockton schools and moved to Bridgewater 30 years ago. Harry served in the U.S. Army National Guard. He worked as a foreman at Cape Cod-Cricket Lane, Inc., of West Bridgewater, for over 40 years of dedicated service from which he retired in the early 1990s. Over the years, Harry belonged to many bowling leagues and enjoyed playing cards, bingo, woodworking and gardening. He was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and Boston Celtics. He is survived by his four children, Lisa M. Nelson, Traci J. Nelson, Lynn A. Nelson, all of Taunton, and Scott A. Nelson and his wife Nancy of Valrico, Fla.; his grandchildren, Kelley A. (Nelson) DaRosa, Megan and Kyle Nelson; and his great-grandchild, Alana DaRosa; his brother, Richard F. Nelson and his wife Judy of Dennis; his close niece, Joanne Gately of Stoughton. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was also the brother of the late Roy Edward Howard Nelson, Donald W. Nelson and Doris A. Nelson. Funeral services were held July 17. Arrangements were made by the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., Brockton.
