Buttars Andrews Harriet mars 11, 1934 - juin 20, 2012 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful death of Harriet Emily (Andrews) Buttars on June 20th in her 79th year following a courageous battle with cancer. Beloved daughter of Rev. Donald Andrews and his wife Kathleen Gibney (both deceased), Harriet is survived by her sister Elizabeth (William) Campbell (Burlington, ON); her four proud and devoted children, Jennifer (Ile-Cadieux, QC), Rob (Lachine, QC), Beth (Beaconsfield, QC) and Kathleen (Byfield, MA); and their loving families, Vince, Kim, Tara, Phil and Paul. Especially fond and devoted to her six adoring grandchildren, Hattie's spirit will keep close watch over Abby, Hannah and Chelsea, and Gaga's magical smile will not be forgotten by Owen, Griffin and Charlotte. Harriet's love for life, emphasis on family and friendship, ability to forgive and her strength of character will be greatly missed by many extended family members and close friends, both near and far, by "the Girls", by neighbours past and present, and by numerous former colleagues at the Lakeshore/Lester B. Pearson School Board where she worked for 25 years. Visitation will take place at Collins Clarke MacGillivray White Funeral Home in Pointe-Claire, QC on Sunday, June 24th from 2 pm to 4 pm and from 7 pm to 9 pm. A memorial service in Harriet's honor will follow on Monday, June 25th in the funeral home Chapel at 11 am followed by a brief reception. Private interment service at Brock Cemetery in Glen Sutton, QC will be held at a later date. "The child, in the decisive first years of his life, has the experience of his mother, as an all-enveloping, protective, nourishing power. Mother is food; she is love; she is warmth; she is earth. To be loved by her means to be alive, to be rooted, to be at home." - Erich Fromm Mom, your resilience, spirited nature, and belief in the power of unconditional love and family to determine the path forward will endure in the hearts of all those who knew you. Things happen for a reason – it's your time to rest. In lieu of flowers, donations to the West Island Palliative Care Residence (www.wipcr.ca ) in Kirkland, Quebec or the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) Cedars Cancer Institute (www.cedars.ca ) benefiting the Best Care for Life Campaign would be appreciated. unérailles sont organisées par : Collins Clarke MacGillvray White, Pointe-Claire, Québec. 222 Highway 20 Pointe claire exit 49 Cartier 514-483-1870
