AMATO, Giacomo. In memory of Giacomo Amato. 1937-1997. In 1962 Jack Amato wrote a song he titled, "Tell Me Yes: which inevitably became a Top 10 Hit in 1964. Dear Daddy, It's beyond belief that it's 10 years today and we still can't even begin to comprehend why, The tell us all the time that people like your father belongs to the better half of the sky, Maybe we were a little selfish in not wanting to share our super hero among friends and others, But everybody needs you even in Heaven where you belong with the Lord Jesus and God the Father Only at night in our dreams can we hold you and kiss you for you're always there and then, Sadly the morning sun rises too quickly, too soon and it is time for us to wake again, Our family and friends will always remember you in our hearts filled with love and sorrow, We thank God everyday for we'll always be sons of Jack Amato today and tomorrow. Daddy, in 1962 you wrote in your song, "Tell me yes and never let me go"... we believe we know what it means now, Mommy said yes to you when you asked for her hand in marriage and Daddy, we promise we shall never let you go. May God forever be with you Love forever, Angie, Carmelo, Maria, Serena, Giovanni, Michele and Valentia Amato Published in the Montreal Gazette on 1/20/2007
