LAKELAND -- Mr. George Tierso Duval Nunez of Lakeland died of pneumonia Saturday (Oct. 12, 2002) at Highlands Lake Center. He was 92.Born in Panama City on Dec. 23, 1909, he came to Lakeland from Sun City Center five years ago. He was a retired certified public accountant and the founder of Nunez, Davis and Tedder, now known as the NCT Group CPA's, LLP. He graduated from the University of Florida where he taught for a year. He was a major in the Army and a veteran of World War II, in which he served in North Africa and Italy. He worked for the state Auditing Department, serving Polk and Hardee counties. He was past president of the Bartow Rotary Club. He was a member of St. David's Episcopal Church in Lakeland and was past senior warden of Holy Trinity in Bartow.Mr. Nunez was preceded in death by his first wife, Helen Josephine Nunez, and second wife, Clarice Nunez. He is survived by his sons, George Edmund Nunez II, Winter Haven, and Charles T. Nunez, Lakeland; seven grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.Services will be at 5 p.m. Thursday at St. David's Episcopal Church.Memorials may be made to St. David's Episcopal Church, 145 E.
