ANDREWS, George Charles - (1921- 2007) - Passed away peacefully in hospital on March 18th, 2007, while in his 86th year. Born October 3rd, 1921 in London England. Predeceased by his first wife Eileen (nee Giles), his first son Michael, his second wife Marjorie (nee Glendinning), and his brothers Ted, and Art. Survived by his sons Glen (Donna), Brett (Anna), his daughters Lana Mitchell (Michael), and Susan Greene (JD) and his daughter-in-law Shannon. Grandpa will be sadly missed by his 13 grandchildren Chris, Rachel, Kathryn, Kendra, Siobhan, Nathan, Damian, Micah, Brett, Adam, Caitlin, Lauren, and Jordan. Treasured friend of Wynn Stitt. George was employed at the Bell Telephone as a construction foreman for 38 years during which time he was also a member of the Royal Canadian Air Force. Upon retirement he pursued his passion for craftsmanship. Over the years he built his own home, crafted many canoes, knives, and gunstocks. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying fishing and hunting throughout Canada and loved to spend time in Algonquin Park. When he could no long physically go on these trips he enjoyed telling stories of his many adventures. He was the ultimate “do-it- yourselfer“. He loved a good sing-a-long and loved to read western novels. We will miss you. Our family would like to express a sincere thank you to the staff at Mattawa General Hospital for their exceptional compassion and care for our father. Donations to the Mattawa General Hospital in George's memory would be welcome. Friends may call at the MARTYN FUNERAL HOME (across from city hall) on Wednesday evening from 7 - 9 pm. Funeral services to celebrate George's life will be held in the funeral home chapel on Thursday March 22 at 11:00 am. Interment to follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. 10581229
