BRIGGS, George DeRoy of Brooksville, passed away on Friday, Oct. 10, 2008, in Brooksville. He was born on Aug. 23, 1929, in Battle Creek, MI. His parents were Artemus O. and Daisey D. (Curtis) Briggs. His siblings were Lola Cook, Weldon Briggs, Ceicle Wilson, Winifred (Peg) Wilbur, Louis Briggs, all preceded him in death. His first wife, Marian J. (Wenger) Briggs, preceded him in 1992. His present wife, Zula (Peg) Briggs, married March 6, 1993. Daughters Darlene Clark and Georgina (Robert) Morris of Battle Creek, MI, Maureen (Dennis) Jackson of Newaygo, MI and Leslie Briggs of Pahrump, NV; 8 living, 1 deceased grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren. He worked for Post Gardens and set pins at Battle Creek Bowling Alley. Steedman's Grocery, drove a school bus, retired from Post Cereals in 1988, with 40 years of service. He became a permanent resident of Florida approximately 15 years ago. He served as a Scout Master, enjoyed square dancing, golfing, fishing, writing poetry, traveling, playing cards, reading Louis L'Amour books and watching baseball. He was a member of the Brooksville Wesleyan Church in Brooksville. He loved his family and dwelled in the goodness of the Lord and Savior.
