Avis de décès de George Andersen

ANDERSEN, George 86, passed away February 12, 2016 at VGH after a long struggle with heart failure and diabetes. He is survived by his daughter Karen (Russ), sons Robert (Lilian) and Bernard, brother Donald, seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Joyce and brother Bob. He graduated from Britannia High in 1947 and married in 1954. He greatly enjoyed a retail career at the downtown Woodwards store where he made many friends. Out of a sense of civic duty he was active in both the Lutheran church and the B.C. grassroots political scene. He will be remembered for his gregarious nature, generosity of spirit, passion, poetry and genuine love of people. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. A celebration of his life will be part of the regular 10 a.m. service at Spirit of Life Lutheran Church, 375 W 10th Ave in Vancouver on February 28, 2016. In the early sixties, as a young father, dad wrote on the basement wall of his first home: "On earth and above, to live is to love."
