Griswold - Genevieve P. Tessier, 92, formerly of 455 Plainfield Road, died on Sunday, June 23, 2013, at The William W. Backus Hospital.On Aug. 31, 1920, she was born in Norwich, the daughter of Stanley and Mary (Naumowic) Przekop. Genevieve grew up in Norwich and was a graduate of the Norwich Free Academy, Class of 1938.For over 36 years she worked for Southern New England Telephone Company primarily as an operator and was a member of the Pioneer's Club for over 50 years. She was married to Ernest J. Tessier on Aug. 8, 1964, at Divine Providence Church in Norwich. They were married for 48 years until his death in Oct. of 2012.Genevieve was as kind hearted person who loved listening to polka music and attending polka dances. She had a passion for travelling, having visited many different countries and much of the United States. She had strong religious beliefs and was a lifelong member of Divine Providence National Church in Norwich. She is survived by her brother, Chester Przekop and wife, Dorothy, of California; and will be sadly missed by her nephews, Chester, Richard and Jeffrey Wojcik and Glen Przekop and his family.She was predeceased by her sister, Irene Wojcik.A calling hour will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. Monday, at the Woyasz & Son Funeral Home, 141 Central Ave., Norwich, followed by a service at Divine Providence National Church. Burial will be in Divine Providence Cemetery.
