GORDON (BRUCE) BENNETT With deepest regrets and broken hearts, we want to let you know of the passing of Bruce on Thursday, November 20, 2014. His heart just wasn't up to finishing his railway journey across Canada with his newly acquainted cousin Raymond Horne. They took a two-day break in Jasper, Alberta, on the way to Vancouver. It was there that his life with us came to an end from a massive heart attack. He was happy and in his own domain on his final journey. Bruce knew so many fine people during his life of 79 years and if you were one of the lucky ones, in his circle of family and friends, you'll remember him for his kindness and never-ending caring ways. He was a remarkable, gentle man who brought goodness to everyone, especially those in his lifelong affiliation with the Sixth Toronto Scout Group and during his 28 years with VIA Rail. Regrettably, he leaves his loving daughter Barbara (Ron) and his buddy and grandson Mitchell and Simba. Predeceased by his loving wife of 43 years Sharon, brother Jack and sister Dorothy. Also survived by sister-in-law Ann, brothers-in-law Bill and Sid, as well as many nieces, nephews and his many friends with the Birch Cliff Heights "gang". Memorial Service on Saturday, November 29th at Birchcliff Bluffs United Church, 33 East Road, Scarborough, at 11 a.m. Reception to follow. Donations to the Sixth Toronto Scout Group and Autism Dog Services in his memory would be appreciated.
