FINDLAY, Frank Frank was born on Feb 3, 1933 in New Westminster, B.C. and passed away on Sept. 25, 2012 at the age of 79. He was predeceased by his wife, Gayle (nee MacPherson), son Richard (Wanda) and brother Jimmy. Frank loved his work life from the time he spent with JK Cooper Realty to building the Gillnetter Pub. He enjoyed volunteering with the Kinsmen, working with Dogwood and the Hawthorne Seniors Care Community. His love of boating, travel, cards and his friends kept him optimistic and content. Frank always found the humour in any situation and liked to make people smile. We are comforted to know that he spent his last hours in the very place he volunteered so much of his time, Hawthorne Care Center. Thank you to the staff of Eagle Ridge Hospital and Hawthorne for showing him compassion, care and warmth. We are proud of all he accomplished. He will be missed by his sister Ella, son Daniel (Sharon), daughter Roxanne (Mike) grandchildren: Jasmine, James, Shaun, Cherise, Chantel, Mandy, many other family and friends. Volunteering once again, he donated his body to the U.B.C Body Donation Program however a Memorial Service will be held at 2:00pm on Thursday, October 11th at Burquitlam Funeral Home, 625 North Rd., Coquitlam. Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Society or the Heart of Hawthorne Foundation.
