Francis R. Reed, age 80 years died on June 19, 2010. Born and raised in Orwigsburg, PA he lived in Woodbury Heights since 1957. Francis served in the US Army during the Korean War. He worked for the Philadelphia Navy Yard as an Electrical Supervisor, retiring in 1985 after 25 years. He was an active member of St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church in Woodbury where he served on the Council for many years. Francis enjoyed raising bees and was a member of the Bee Keeper’s Association. He also enjoyed gardening. He is survived by his children Faith (David) Beckas of Wildwood Crest, Susan Reed of Manitou Springs, CO, Helen Kaestner of Woodbury Heights, Ruth (Michael) McBride of Egg Harbor, brothers Oliver (Cecelia) of Mantua, Jay (Sylvia) of Mullica Hill, Clifford of Bethlehem, PA, sisters Orva Krause of Pine Grove, PA , Faye Baranowsky of Orwigsburg, PA, 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by one grandson. Friends may call on Wednesday 7-9pm and Thursday after 10am in the BUDD FUNERAL HOME, 522 Salem Ave (King’s Hwy), Woodbury, NJ. Funeral service will be 11am on Thursday. Interment will be Friday at 12 noon in Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven, PA. Memories may be shared at www.buddfuneralhome.com.
