Frances Fritz Riley, 96 of Hanson died on April 3, 2011 at Colony House Nursing Home in Abington after a period of failing health. She was born in Lakota ND, one of twelve children to the late Patrick and Anna Fahey and was raised and educated there. Mrs. Riley would later move to Rockland in 1946. Frances worked as a waitress in several different restaurants over the years including The Tall House in Rockland, Sunnyfields in Abington, Drums Diner in Norwell, and Ryans Store in Rockland. She also worked for some time at the Electro Signal Lab in Rockland. Fritz was famous for her great chocolate chip cookies, and her apple pie. She loved flowers, gardening, and spending time with her family. Frances was wife of the late Paul B. Riley. Mother of Larry Riley and his wife Lisa (Trozzi) Riley of Hanson, the late Daniel Riley, Terri (Healey) Riley of CA, and Keith Paulson of N.D. Grandmother of Curtis Riley of Braintree, David Riley of CA, Carolyn Riley of CA, and Paul Riley of Hanson. Also survived by three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. The Riley family welcome friends and loved ones to celebrate Frances life on Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home, 135 Union St., Rockland from 5:00-8:00 p.m. A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, April 7, 2011 at 9:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Holy Family Cemetery.
