"Ginger" Clarke March 26, 2004 Frances I. "Ginger" Clarke, age 82, of Newfield, died March 26, 2004 at the Lakeside Nursing Home in Ithaca. She was born February 20, 1922 in Mexico, New York, daughter of Wesley and Emma Newman Clark. She graduated from Mexico High School in 1940. During World War II she enlisted in The Waves and was stationed at the Alamoda Naval Air Force base in California. After discharge from The Waves in 1946 she attended and graduated from Mansfield State Teachers College in Pennsylvania. She taught Home Economics in Irondequoit and the Rochester area most of her adult life. She is survived by one sister, Doris Schneider, Pulaski; two brothers, Gerald Clarke and Lorne Clarke, both of Mexico; several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by two sisters, Lois Clarke, Mexico, Shirley Clarke Manwaring of Kirtland, Ohio; two brothers, Mervin Clarke and Wesley Clarke, both of Mexico. Graveside services will be held Saturday, July 31 at 9:30 a.m. at the Mexico Cemetery, Mexico, NY.
