Plattsburgh — Frances E. "Mimi" LaPierre, 84, of Monty Street, passed away on Sunday, March 13, 2005, at Prattville Baptist Health Center in Prattville, Ala. Frances was born in Plattsburgh on Oct. 7, 1920, daughter of the late Charles and Eva (Mousseau) Andrews.Frances was the head of the Democratic Committee of Clinton County; she was a member of Bluff Point Golf and Country Club, club champion of Adirondack Golf, B flight; she was a retail salesperson in Plattsburgh, her last employment was the Dry Dock Lounge in Plattsburgh. She was a member of Our Lady of Victory Church. Frances enjoyed bowling, golf, gambling, reading, traveling and thoroughly enjoyed her large family.Frances is survived by six children, James (Melanie) LaPierre of Dover Plains, Donna (Jimmie) Temar of Cincinnati, Ohio, Patricia Rabideau and special friend Janet Conklin of Canton, Rosie (Gene) Grothe of Prattville, Ala., Cheryl (Darryl) Smith of Prattville, Ala., and Susan Stefanick and her companion Billy Joe Leopard of Plattsburgh; 16 grandchildren, James and Michael LaPierre, Chris and Jimmie Temar, Missy Engelman, Jon, Cynthia and Kim Rabideau, Sandi Smith, Lori Noe, Bruce, Josh and Bradley Fisher, Carrie Brookshire, from all over the United States, Megan Cook from Schuyler Falls and her father, Donald Cook from Plattsburgh; 25 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews; a sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Bob Burke of Plattsburgh; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Gladys and Bill Wade of Peru, Bob and Pat LaPier of Plattsburgh; and all her friends at the Dry Dock.Frances was predeceased by her husband, Frances E. LaPierre, on May 26, 1995; a grandson, Troy Temar on July 4, 1999; and a grandson, Danny Grothe.Calling hours will be Wednesday, March 16th, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, March 17th at 9 a.m. from Our Lady of Victory Church in Plattsburgh. Burial will be later in the year in St. Peter’s Cemetery in Plattsburgh.A reception will follow the funeral at the Dry Dock Lounge on U.S. Avenue in Plattsburgh.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice or to the family. --- FRANCES E.
