ADAMS, Frances Anne (Dunfield) Passed away peacefully on March 12, 2011. Born July 5, 1923 in Saint John NB. Beloved wife of the late John Howard Adams (1987). Cherished mother of Howard Adams (Elaine) of Windsor, Jane Adams Graham (Gordon) of Pretoria, South Africa, and Susan MacLean (Jim) of London. She is lovingly remembered by her sister Bette Harding of London, Ontario. She will be dearly missed by her grandchildren: Jonathan, Robert, Alex, David and Thomas Adams, Gillian Graham and Colin, Cameron and Allison MacLean. After winning the Gold Medal for the highest secondary school academic achievement in New Brunswick in 1940, she graduated from Acadia University in 1944 and began her career as a therapeutic dietitian at Royal Victoria Hospital in Montreal. She was the founder of the diabetes education program at Scarborough General Hospital and spent her career helping patients achieve better health while living with diabetes, renal and cardiac disease. She was a devoted mother, voracious reader and life-long learner, and was delighted that all of her children and grandchildren attended university. Cremation has taken place. Arrangements entrusted to FAMILIES FIRST, 3260 DOUGALL AVENUE, South Windsor 519-969-5841. A private family interment will take place at a later date.
