Florence C. Whalen, 82, died May 20, 2008, at Martin Memorial Medical Center in Stuart. She was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and moved to Palm City in 1987, coming from Lakeland. She was a member of the Roman Catholic faith and attended Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Palm City and St. Joseph Catholic Church in Stuart. Survivors include her sons, Michael Whalen and Dennis Whalen, both of Palm City, William Whalen of Homestead, and Kevin Whalen of Lakeland; daughter, Patricia Marshall of Vero Beach; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Whalen. SERVICES: Visitation will be from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. and 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. May 21 at Forest Hills Funeral Home in Palm City with a vigil service at 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. May 22 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Stuart.
