MELROSE, Fla. - Francis Joseph Stanley, 93, died Jan. 14, 2011.He was born April 6, 1917, in Rutland, Vt., the son of John and Cecelia (Oney) Stanley.He graduated from Rutland High School in 1936, and furthered his education in Quoddy, Maine.Mr. Stanley worked in the material control laboratory at Pratt and Whitney in East Hartford, Conn., for 27 years, retiring in 1982.He was a parishioner of St. Williams Church.He enjoyed nature and the great outdoors, and was an avid University of Florida Gators fan.Survivors include his wife, Theresa A. (McCormack) Stanley of Melrose; his children, Susan Frances Jasion of Tolland, Conn., David Stanley of Hawthorne, Therese Daley, Timothy Stanley and Mary Maynes, all of Vernon, Conn.; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 21, at St. Bernard's Church, 25 St. Bernard Terrace, Rockville, Conn.
