On Dec. 7, 2006, the spirit of Elizabeth Hallett Lawrence passed on in St. Augustine, to join her husband H. Warren Lawrence. Elizabeth was born in Hackensack, N.J. Nov. 6, 1912, to Dr. Frederick Spencer and Alice Lewis Hallett.Elizabeth received her diploma from Mount Holyoke College in 1934. During 60 years residing in Farmington, Conn., area she was known for her extensive volunteer work with many organizations. She received the 1974 Book of Golden Deeds Award from the Farmington Exchange Club and was recognized by both the State of Connecticut and the Red Cross for 50 years of continuous service. Besides volunteering and her family, she enjoyed bridge, local and Broadway theatre, reading, world traveling and in Florida, listening to books and tapes.As a matriarch of the Hallett-Lawrence families, Elizabeth leaves a son; George, two daughters, Alice (William) Roehrig and Sally-Ann Hopkins; two nephews, Hallett (Anne) and Peter (Glenda) Brakman, one niece; Bet-Lou (Artie) Dorf, nine grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and seven grand nieces and nephews.Craig Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of the arrangementsPAID NOTICE
