ROCK HILL, SC-- Elizabeth Griner West, 88, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, April 8, 2006 at Westminster Health Care. Born on June 12, 1917 in Spartanburg, SC, she was a daughter of the late Melvin and Bessie Griner and the widow of Walter Allen West.Mrs. West was a homemaker and a member of Morningside Baptist Church of Spartanburg and First Baptist Church of Columbia. She loved and enjoyed family and friends and took great pleasure in playing the piano until the day she died.Survivors include three daughters, Judy Grier and her husband, Barron, of Columbia, SC, Kathy Varn and her husband, Jimmy, of Ridgeland, SC, and Susan Pizzuti and her husband, Anthony, of Matthews, NC; a brother, James Griner; and six grandchildren: Meredith Buyck, Barron Grier, Helen Griffin, Michael, Brian and Daniel Pizzuti; and six great-grandchildren.Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 11, 2006 at Floyds Greenlawn Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Dick Tevebaugh. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
