Avis de décès de Elizabeth Dalton

ObituaryElizabeth 'Liz' Dalton, 30, a native of Fort Myers and a contributor to bringing music ministry to South Florida, was declared dead Friday in her Coral Gables home. 'Liz was an extraordinarily gifted and intelligent person who lost her joy,' said the Rev. Dr. Donna Schaper, senior pastor at Coral Gables Congregational Church, where Dalton served as fine arts associate. 'Liz was the glue for our wide-ranging music program. She made this place sing.' Dalton's duties included coordinating the church's extensive music ministry, including the award winning summer concert series. She joined the church staff in 1997, following work in administration and the restaurant industry in Florida, Alabama, Georgia and New York. Dalton was a 1988 graduate of Cypress Lake High School and a 1991 Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Florida in Gainesville, majoring in English. She also attended the Sorbonne of the University of Paris. Services are scheduled for Monday, June 18, 2001 at 11:00 a.m. at Coral Gables Congregational Church, 3010 DeSoto Blvd. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to the National Depressive and Manic-Depressive Association, 730 N. Franklin St., Suite 501, Chicago, IL 60610. She is survived by her mother, Jane C. Eaton of Burlington, VT; her father, Stephen E. Dalton of Fort Myers; and grandparents, George and Agnes Dalton of Gainesville and Marie M. Eaton of Miami. 'Her loss will create a huge hole in our organization,' Schaper said. 'We know that her work brought many others - and sometimes even herself - joy.'
