Douglas Norman Richardson 1951-2014 Douglas Norman Richardson, 62, of Albert Mines passed away peacefully on May 27th, 2014 at the Moncton Hospital with his loving and supportive family by his side. Doug was born in Petitcodiac, NB, the son of the late Norman H. Richardson and Velma E. (Harrison) Richardson- Elliott of Lower Sackville, NS. He worked at Armour Transportation until his illness. He enjoyed family barbeques and spending time with his family and friends. His grandchildren were definitely his pride and joy. Doug had a great sense of humour and kept everyone laughing till the very end. He was ready to go and see his family that had gone before him and be with his special grandson Timothy. Doug will be remembered for his great attitude and for that great smile. He would not want a lot of tears but for all his family and friends to remember all the good times they had and treasure them. " Those we love don't go away, they walk beside us everyday, unseen, unheard, but always near." He will be deeply missed by his mother, Velma Elliott of Lower Sackville, NS; his devoted wife of 41 years and best friend, Patricia (Arsenault) Richardson of Albert Mines; his daughter, Angela Richardson of Irishtown; son, Derrick Richardson (Loretta Mullin) of Hillsborough; his cherished grandchildren, Twyla and Izac; sisters, Penny Richardson (Paul Gordon) of Calgary, AB, Heather Laybolt (Rod) of Dartmouth, NS and Kelly Wilson (Stephen) of Lower Sackville, NS; step-brother, Douglas Elliott of USA; sisters-in-law, Susan Small of Pine Glen and Donna Arsenault of Moncton, Evelyn Ballantyne (Rob) of Calgary; brothers-in-law, Donald Gayton of Calgary and Harold Arsenault (Karen) of Pine Glen; nephews, Brady Hebert and Kuper Wilson both of Lower Sackville, NS, David Belliveau of Calgary,AB and niece Tammy Ferguson of Calgary, AB; uncles, James Harrison (Doris) of Hillsborough, Richard Harrison (Alice) of Moncton, Roger Steeves of Petersburg, ON; aunts, Lillace Harnish (Charles) of Hamilton, ON, Bonnie Harrison of Riverview; great aunt Martha Lingley (Ron) of Hampton, great uncle, Thomas Greer of Fredericton; and by many cousins. He will also be missed by his neighbors and friends. Besides his father, Norman H. Richardson, he was predeceased by his step-dad, Harold Elliott; great-great grandparents, Herbert and Jennie Richardson; grandparents, Warden E. Harrison and Mary (Greer) Mathews-Harrison; beloved grandson, Timothy Richardson; father-in-law, Raymond H. Arsenault; mother-in-law, Marjorie (Bauer) ; sister-in-law, Bettyanne Colpitts; aunts, Iris Arsenault, Barbara Hartley, Evelyn Mathews, Marjorie Richardson; uncles, Bliss Matthews and Norman Harrison, Murray Richardson. Honoring Doug's own wishes there will be no visitation. A Memorial Service and Celebration of his life will be held at the Albert County Funeral Home on Saturday, May 31st, 2014 at 2:00pm with Pastor Paul Steeves officiating. Following the service the family will be meeting with relatives and friends for further sharing of memories and for refreshments at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Dieppe, NB. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Friends of the Moncton Hospital- Extra Mural Program or Palliative Care Unit would be greatly appreciated by the family.
