DONALD - Dorothy Margaret June 23, 1918 - November 2, 2008 Dorothy passed away surrounded by love and peace after a short stay at St Paul's Hospital where she received exemplary care. She will be forever missed and never forgotten by her daughters Mary Jane, Louise and Jo-Anne, her grandsons Steve, Lew, Randolf, Shane, Heinz and Oliver and great-grandchildren Matthew, Jamie, Kaya, Samantha, Kayla and Jayden. Predeceased by her best friend and husband of 67 years Lew (Feb 2007) and sons Jim (Oct 1996) and John (Mar 2008). Mom was proud to be a BC Native Daughter and to have reached 90 years of age. Although she lost many relatives and friends along the way, new friends continued to be attracted to her engaging smile, great sense of humour, and creative approach to life. Mom, a homemaker first and foremost, was also a talented artist and craftsperson, independent in business affairs and keenly interested in life in the world today. As well as painting and drawing Mom loved music and traveling and was always open to new experiences. Although she had just one month to enjoy her lovely new home at PHC's Honoria Conway Assisted Living Residence, she was excited about being there and looked forward to continuing to enjoy wonderful new friendships and experiences. Thanks to all residents and staff at Honoria who enriched Mom's life and to her special caregivers, Agnis and Virginia for all the laughter and gentle care they shared. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Nov 22nd at 10:00 AM in the Chapel, followed by burial, at Ocean View Burial Park 4000 Imperial St, Burnaby, BC. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of BC will be appreciated.
