Avis de décès de Dorothy-Elizabeth Newton


STEVENSON, Dorothy Elizabeth Dorothy Elizabeth Stevenson (nee Newton), widow of John A. Stevenson, was born to Stephen and Ella, March 23, 1915. She passed away on October 25, 2006 and was predeceased by her parents and brothers, Reginald, JB, and Victor. Dorothy is lovingly remembered by her children, Sandra (Terrence), Robert (Maureen), Christopher, Charlotte, and Kenneth (Roxanne); grandchildren, Elissa, Tracy (Chris), Becky (Dean), Janet (Marcel), Caley (Stephanie), Elizabeth (Craig), Andrea, Heather, Greg, Kevin; and great-grandson Lane. Dorothy grew up in Sherbrooke, QC, enlisted in the British Army, and served as a munitions driver prior to her marriage and birth of her first child. Upon John and Dorothy's return to Canada, four children were born during transfers to six provinces. In each community, Dorothy, as a gourmet cook, was a gracious hostess who loved entertaining. Since John's retirement from the RCMP in 1969, they lived in Varsity Acres for over thirty years, and enjoyed the company of their family, close neighbours and friends. The Family held a private celebration of Dorothy's life, officiated by Mr. John Griffith, on November 17 at Foster's Garden Chapel, with Interment beside her husband at Union Cemetery.
