Paul, Donald Laverne Passed away suddenly at home in Bethune, SK on June 29th, 2011. Don, beloved husband of Lois for over 58 years. Predeceased by his daughters Barbara Tempel, Beverly, and Karen Patience and by his brothers Ivan, Percy, Ray and Stan. Loving father of Gary (Deb), Les (Donna), Brian (Kim), and Janet Cookson. Cherished Grandpa of Carla Allen (Nick), Cindy, Jennifer (Ian McLeod), Jinelle, Brandi Lea, Eric, Bailey, Madison, Dennis (Laura), Derek (Jenna), Takao, Jayce, Darcy (Alison Hipkin), Kevin (Loretta Nosbush), Bradon, Justin, Kim Bedard (Marc), Lexi, Bobbi, Zak, Carson, Kristie Briske (Aron), and Jordynn. He will be missed by his sisters Zella Weis (Albert, deceased), Esther Duncan (Herb, deceased), and Marina Atkinson (Colin, deceased). He is survived by sons-in-law Bob Tempel and Doug Patience. He will be lovingly remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends. Donald was born on the family farm in the Westridge District to Charles and Annie Paul on October 16, 1932. He worked on the family farm while attending Westridge School. He married his school sweetheart Lois Campbell in 1953 and the couple began their own family and took over the family farm. They moved to Bethune in 1966 to make transportation to school easier for their 7 children, although they continued to farm the family farm. Don retired in 2002, after 60 years of farming. He had a strong passion for fishing, hunting, camping, and gardening, especially his tomatoes. He loved his family and enjoyed many family gatherings. He curled until his boys started hockey, and he coached them for many years. In his later years he enjoyed getting together with neighbours to play cards, and watching the grandkids in their various activities. Funeral Services for Don will be held at the Bethune Community Hall on Monday, July 4th, 2011 at 2:00 pm, with a private family interment to follow at Bethune Cemetery. In memory of Don, donations to The Heart and Stroke Foundation, Cancer Research, or to a charity of your choice would be appreciated. Arrangements are entrusted to Parkview Funeral Chapel.
