Loving husband, father, grandfather, brother FITCHBURG -- David R. Lapointe, 73, of Fitchburg, passed away Tuesday evening, December 4, 2012, with his family at his side, in Health Alliance Leominster Hospital.He was born on April 3, 1939 in Northampton, MA. the son of Delsi and Sylvia (Jellison) Lapointe. He had lived in Fitchburg, MA, most of his life. David was a graduate of the Worcester Trade School in 1957.He went on to become an expert craftsman in furniture manufacturing and in the making of gold leaf mirrors. He worked at the former Charlton Furniture Co. in Leominster, MA for 25 years, and then worked as a craftsman at Carvers Guild Co. in West Groton, MA, for 20 years. He retired in 2003.David enjoyed collecting cars and Danbury Mint miniatures, but he most enjoyed spending time with his grandsons and his family.He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Claudette (Bourque) Lapointe; his two daughters, Linda LaQuire of Fitchburg, MA, and Suzanne DiGeronimo and her husband, Paul of Fitchburg, MA; three grandsons, Steven LaQuire, Dylan and Drew DiGeronimo; his two brothers, Delsi Lapointe of Nashua, N.H., and Richard Lapointe of Phoenix, Arizona; and several nephews and nieces.LAPOINTE -- A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 14, 2012 at 11 a.m. in the Lavery Chartrand & Alario Funeral Home, 99 Summer St., Fitchburg, MA. Inurnment will follow in St. Bernard's Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
