CARROLLTON David Alfred Acker, age 41, of Carrollton, died Feb. 20, 2008, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be 11 a.m. today at Glen Echo Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Gary Mullenix and Rev. Jerry Montgomery officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. The body will lie in state 30 minutes prior to service at the church.He was preceded in death by his father, David Ellis Acker; grandparents, Hugh and Corine Acker James B. Morgan, and Ida Morgan Conner; and aunt, Brenda A. Jones.Survivors include his mother, Nellie M. Acker of Carrollton; brothers, Robert M. (Felisha) Acker of Kennedy and James H. (Dana) Acker of Carrollton; niece, Megan Acker; and nephews, Morgan Acker and Joshua Acker.David was born March 14, 1966, in Reform, Ala. He was a member of Glen Echo Free Will Baptist Church, a former employee of Piggly Wiggly, and a life long resident of Pickens County.Pallbearers will be Ricky Harcrow, Luther Noland, Harrell McDaniel, Larry McJenkin, Tim Fulgham, and Glen Fulgham.
