Dan was the grandfather of the late Maria Anna Paradiso who died on October 23, 1991. Dan was born in Newton on October 9, 1932, the son of the late Daniel W. Keating and Elizabeth (McKenzie) Keating. Dan married Madeline in 1956 and had lived in Wayland for the past 57 years. Dan received his BS in Electrical Engineering from Northeastern University and had a long and distinguished career as an Electrical Engineer with Dobal Engineering in Watertown before his retirement. Dan loved to sail and was a member of the Community Boating, Inc. on the Charles River at the Esplanade in Boston. Dan enjoyed being outdoors, especially kayaking, biking and motorcycling. Dan was an avid Red Sox fan and also loved to delight his grandchildren with whimsical voice-activated lighting and toy car racing inventions. He was especially proud of the home he built for his family in Wayland. Dan also spent many hours volunteering at the Perkins School for the Blind, Saint Francis House in Boston and the Parmenter Health Center in Wayland. But, Dan's greatest joy was the time spent with his wife, children and grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
