Avis de décès de Colleen-Anne Cooper

NICKERSON (COOPER), COLLEEN Colleen Anne Nickerson (Cooper), 40, Cole Harbour, passed away peacefully in the Palliative Care Unit, VG Site, QEII, on Sunday, October 22, 2006, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born October 3, 1966, in Cornerbrook, NL, she was the daughter of Kevin and Emily (Compagnon) Cooper, Stephenville, NL. On completion of college in St. John's, NL, Colleen came to Nova Scotia where she was employed with Karuba Clothing. Her spirit and drive enabled her to quickly take on a role in Management where she garnered several awards including National Rookie Manager of the Year, Manager of the Year and Visual Merchandiser of the Year. She moved on to Sportelle and then as District Manager with Weekend Edition and in recent years was employed as Manager of Addition-Elle in Mic Mac Mall. Colleen's niche was retail and anyone who met her immediately felt as if they were her best friend. She had an incredible sense of humor, could put a smile on anyone's face and was always the life of any gathering between family and friends. She made a positive, lasting impression on anyone she met and had built a large clientele who came specifically to shop from her. The void she has left can never be filled and she'll be missed by the hundreds of people whose lives she touched. She leaves to mourn her loving husband, Nick (Andrew); sons, Tyler (14) and Cameron (7); brother, Gary (Angela) Cooper, Cole Harbour; in-laws, Cliff and Velma Nickerson, Oromocto, NB; brothers-in-law, Cliff (Brenda), Geary, NB; Kevin (Dianne), Ottawa, ON; Tim (Lorraine), Calgary, AB; Mark (Julie), Calgary, AB; sisters-in-law, Wendy Nickerson, Oromocto, NB and Deb Nickerson, Calgary, AB; maternal grandmother, Dorothy Compagnon, Stephenville, NL; 13 nephews and nieces who will miss "Auntie Colleen"; many aunts, uncles and cousins across Canada and the US. Arrangements have been entrusted to Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main Street, Dartmouth, where Colleen's family will receive friends from 2 to 4, 7 to 9 pm Wednesday and from where the Funeral Service will be held 11 am Thursday, Reverend Tom Woods officiating. Private family interment will be held in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice. Nick, Ty and Cam wish to thank sister-in-law Ang who spent countless hours caring for Colleen and who became to Colleen, a true sister. God Bless the many Doctors and Nurses with Palliative care, the nurses of the VON and the Dartmouth General and Victoria General Hospital who cared for Colleen with great compassion over the past several years during her battle.
