Claude Oscar Daniel, 82, of 6 N. Oak Forest Drive, passed away Monday, Feb. 28, 2005, at his home.Born in Elberton, Ga., he was the son of the late John Osborn and Alma Drennon Daniel. Mr. Daniel was an Army veteran of World War II, retired from Emb-Tex, and was a member of New Liberty Baptist Church.Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Mary Lou Benson Daniel of the home; two daughters, Loretta Beacham and husband, Tommy, of Travelers Rest, and Debbie Cox and husband, Gary, of Powdersville; grandchildren, Anna Beacham, Daniel and David Cox; five sisters, Ruby Bowen and Martha Vanhook, both of Travelers Rest, Georgia Grumbles of Greenville, Lenora Harter of Greenville, Ohio, and Pauline Brown of Van Wert, Ohio; and three brothers, John Daniel of Anderson, Ray and James Daniel, both of Greenville.Memorial services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at New Liberty Baptist Church, with private family burial in the church cemetery.The family will receive friends this evening from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at The Howze Mortuary.The family will be at the home.Memorials may be made to New Liberty Baptist Church, Cemetery Trust Fund, 1798 Highway 25N, Travelers Rest, SC 29690.The family would like to extend a special thank you to St. Francis Hospice for all their kindness and support extended to them.The Howze Mortuary, Travelers Rest, is in charge of arrangements.
