LAFRANCE, Claire (nee Bergin) Peacefully in hospital on Thursday, August 8, 2002. Cherished wife and life partner of Gaston (Gus) of 44 years, and the daughter of the late Francis Bergin and of the late Frances Redmond. Claire was the loving mother of Danny, Bill, Anita (Denis Gatien) and Mitchell and the grandmother of Matthew and David Lafrance, as well as Julien and Amelie Gatien. She is also survived by siblings June (Sisters of St. Joseph), Isobel (Norm Petersen) and Jerry (Jocelyne) and many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews and many friends. Claire is predeceased by siblings Marie (Lou O'Brien), Helen (Gerard Hammill), Mona (Ken Gallagher), Eva, Owen (Shirley Morris) and Bill. Friends and family may pay their respects at A. Gauvreau & Sons Funeral Home, 750 Maloney Blvd. East, Gatineau, Saturday, August 10 from 7 to 10, Sunday August 11 from 2 to 5 and 7 to 10 and Monday starting at 9 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at St-Aloysius Church, 300 Murray Street, Gatineau on August 12, 2002 at 11:00 followed by interment at Pinecrest Cemetery, Ottawa. Following the interment, a celebration of Claire's life will be held and refreshments will be served at Sala San Marco, 215 Preston St. Special thanks to the caring, dedicated and compassionate staff of the intensive care unit, Ottawa General Hospital.
