Avis de décès de Charles R. Andrews


Charles R. Bob Andrews, 75 of Yarmouthport died Friday March 2, 2012 at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. He was the husband of Lillian M. (McHatten) Andrews. They had been married for 25 years. Born in Malden, the son of the late George and Elsie (Bayer) Andrews, Bob was raised and educated in Lexington and Bedford. He was a graduate of Concord Carlisle High School. Bob served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged with the rank of Private in 1958. After returning from the Marine Corps, Bob served as a firefighter for the Town of Bedford for 28 years. He retired in May 1990 as a Lieutenant and moved to South Yarmouth and then to Yarmouthport in 2001. During his retirement years, Bob worked for the Town of Yarmouth as a groundskeeper at the Bayberry Hills Golf Course. Bob was a founding member, along with his good friend, Ralph Hayes, of the Colonial Treasure Hunters Association in Bedford. He enjoyed spending time in his yard and took great pride and consideration in everything that he did. In addition to his wife, Bob is survived by two sons, Matthew Andrews and his wife, Chheji of Yarmouthport, and Jeffrey Marion and his wife, Kerri of Nashua, NH; three daughters, Cheryl Sampson and her husband, Peter of Townsend, Venessa Marion and her partner, Keith of Billerica, and Jessica Marion of Lowell; three brothers, Wayne Andrews of New Hampshire, Rodney and Alan Andrews both of Billerica; twelve grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Bob was predeceased by a son, Daniel R. Andrews. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday March 10 at St. Josephs Cemetery, 96 Riverneck Rd., E. Chelmsford.
