HARPER, Charles Neil. Born in Montreal, December 24, 1921 at the foot of Mount Royal and back to the mountain he shall go. He passed away peacefully, Monday, January 12, 2009 after a very brief illness with his family at his side. Dearly beloved husband of sixty-three years to Isabel (Nicol), cherished and loved father and father-in-law of Susan and Dr. Albert Harroch D.D.S. Treasured brother of Barbara "Babs" (Bernard "Bernie" Dunning) of Mississauga, Ontario, predeceased by other siblings Hazel (Irving Bain), of Lachute, Quebec, Dorothy "Dolly" (Warren "Bud" Aakirvik) of Seattle, Washington, Beverley "Pat" (Richard Bendicksen) of Seattle, Washington, fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by many friends. "Charlie" was a loyal employee of Canadian Copper Refineries Division of Noranda Mines for forty-three years. He was a passionate golfer and avid sports enthusiast, but mostly a devoted family man. Special thanks to Dr. Alain Bitton and The Royal Victoria Hospital Emergency Department for all their care and compassion. A memorial service will be held Sunday, January 25, 2009 at 3 p.m. to celebrate his wonderful eighty-seven years of life.
