Funeral service for Charles J. "Dusty" Adams, 81, of Anniston, will be Friday, April 2, 2010, at 2 p.m. at K.L. Brown Memory Chapel in Golden Springs with the Reverend Buddy Nelson and the Reverend Ed Heptinstall officiating. Entombment will follow at Forestlawn Mausoleum. The family will receive friends prior to the service noon until 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Adams passed away after a long illness on Wednesday, March 31, 2010, at Beckwood Manor. Born in Anniston, Mr. Adams had retired after 40 years as a Terminal Manager of Baggett Transportation. He was also a member of Anniston's First Baptist Church at McClellan. Mr. Adams is preceded in death by his parents, Era and Odis Adams. He is survived by his wife, Opal Adams, of Anniston; his three sons, Michael, Scott, and Tony Adams, all of Anniston; four step-children, Jimmy Nunn, Suzanne Walker, Vivian Williams, and Donnie McGinnis and numerous step- grandchildren and great- grandchildren. Pallbearers will be step grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be the Deacons of Anniston's First Baptist Church at McClellan. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Building Fund at Anniston's First Baptist Church at McClellan, 851 Morton Road, Anniston, AL 36205.
