WILLIAMS Cecil C. Williams died Wednesday. He was 87. Mr. Williams was born in Day and moved to Hawthorne in 1967. He was retired from the U.S. Postal Service. He was a member of Order of the Eastern Star in Hawthorne, Masonic Lodge No. 103, Hawthorne Lions Club, Eliam Baptist Church in Melrose and the American Legion. He was a veteran of World War II. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Reba Chessman. Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Era F. Williams of Hawthorne; a daughter, Cecilia Bowen of Hawthorne; a son, Richard L. Williams of Oxford, Miss.; a brother, Henry J. Williams of Newport News, Va.; sisters Eunice Dees of Havlock, NC; and Bernice Evans of Live Oak; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
