Carole Anne Major Carole Anne Major died on Monday, November 30, 2009 in Marietta, Georgia. The beloved daughter of Bonnie Howell of St. Augustine, FL and James Graves of Tucson, AZ, Carole grew up in the Herndon/Reston, VA area. She had a rewarding career with the US Park Service, and served at the Statue of Liberty/Ellis Island National Monuments, married Chris Major and raised 2 lovely daughters.Carole excelled in her studies at Nova Community College and achieved certification as a Microsoft Certified Networking Professional. She attended the Church of Christ on Powers Ferry Road in Marietta, GA and enjoyed gardening, cooking, music, movies and animals. She is survived by her parents and a sister Roberta Freese (Tallahassee, FL), daughters Andrea Major and Allison Major (Wirtz, VA), and a son Ryan Strother (Atlanta, GA). A private service will be held on December 12, 2009 in Virginia.In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to your local shelter for abused women. Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home & Crematory in Marietta, Georgia (770-428-1511, www.mayeswarddobbins.com ) was in charge of the arrangements.
