Carol F. Newman, 56, Fair Grove, Mo., departed this life Saturday, December 23, 2006, at St. John's in Springfield surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was born December 29, 1949, in Toledo, Ohio, to Victor and Mary (Fitsko) Roth. She was a 1967 graduate of Start High School and joined the U.S. Army, serving from July 1970 until May 1971 as a clerical instructor. Carol was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, David. Survivors include her loving husband Jamie, Sr.; son Jamie, Jr.; daughters, Jenell and husband, Tyler Hale, and Janine; granddaughters, Breanna and Ashton; grandson, Jaiden Falls; her brothers, Robert and wife, Gloria Roth, Victor and wife, Marion Roth; sisters, Mary Lou and husband, Robert Hughes, Kathy Sass, Helene Roth, Anna and husband, Richard Welch, and Faith Roth; and numerous nieces and nephews also survive. If desired, memorials may be made to the family. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, December 29, 2006, at Greenlawn Funeral Home South with Reverend Randall Daum officiating. Burial will be in Missouri Veterans Cemetery with full military honors. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Greenlawn Funeral Home South, 441 W. Battlefield, Springfield, Mo.
