WHITE Charles R. White, age 82 of Stratford, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, March 2, 2011 in Bridgeport Hospital. Born in Boston, Mass. on October 21, 1928 to the late Alfred White and Irene Johnson White, he was a U.S. veteran and served in the Korean War. He was a member of the VFW Post 9460 in Stratford and had been employed Town of Stratford as a custodian, Premier Maintenance Inc. in Milford and McKesson and Robbins for more than 30 years. He is survived by his loving wife, Hattie Pearl White of Stratford; son, Charles (Joan) Stokes of Graham, N.C.; daughter, Joyce (Terry) Vickers of Stratford; four brothers; two sisters; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends. A funeral service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Friendship Baptist Church, 235 Albert Avenue, Stratford. Interment will follow at the Veterans State Cemetery in Middletown. Calling hours will begin at 10 a.m. in the church. Arrangements entrusted to Lester Gee Funeral Home 1390 Fairfield Avenue, Bridgeport.
