JOHNSTON, BESSYE, 79Bessye Johnston, 79, passed away Friday, February 21, 2009 in St. Vincent's Hospital, Jacksonville, Florida following a short illness. Mrs. Johnston was born December 4, 1929 in Mayo, Florida, and moved from the Branford area to Lake City, FL four years ago. She had been employed with the Civil Service in the clerical field. She was a member of Gateway Baptist Church in Lake City, FL., and a former member of Mt. Paran Baptist Church in Lafayette County, FL. Survivors include one daughter, Gina Johnston of Chico, CA., two sons; Danny Johnston of Vista, CA., Rick Johnston of O'Brien, FL, two sisters; Florence Bizaillon of Lake City, FL., Odessa Moses of Branford, FL, one brother, Paxton Sullivan of Branford, FL and 10 grandchildren also survive. Memorial graveside service will be conducted Monday, February 23, 2009 at 11:00 AM in Midway Cemetery, Lafayette County with Rev. Rick McCall officiating.
