UNION, SCMrs. Bessie Mae Epps West, 84, of 296 Meansville Road, Union, SC, widower of John Woodrow West, Sr., went home to be with her Lord, Thursday, February 23, 2006, at 2:00 a.m., in Wallace Thomson Hospital.Mrs. West, a Baptist by faith, was born January 3, 1922 in Union, SC, a daughter of the late Jesse and Rose Howell Epps of Union. She was of Cherokee Indian descent, of which she was very proud. She cherished her family and her many friends and loved ones. Nanny spent her life taking care of her family and friends, and will be greatly missed.Survivors include one daughter, Ann Gill of Union and husband Charlie of Myrtle Beach, SC; two sons, Don West and wife Terri of Union, and Johnny West and wife Nanci of Port Orange, FL; ten grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.The family will receive friends Friday evening, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home.Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 25, 2006 at S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by Rev. Randy Smith.
