BARRE CITY - Beatrice Bertha "Bea" Ives, 84, died Friday, July 10, 2009 at the Berlin Health and Rehab Center. She had been a longtime resident of the Tilden House in Barre.Born Aug. 2, 1924, in Newport, she was the daughter of Henry and Victoria (Lesperance) Bresson. She had received her GED from Massasoit Community College in Brockton, Mass.On Feb. 27, 1985 she married Harry Alden Ives and they lived in Barre. Mr. Ives died April 19, 1987.She had been a caregiver and housekeeper in several area private homes.Her memberships included The Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints in Berlin and the Tilden House Tenants Council.Her Memorial Service will be held Friday, July 17, 2009 at 10 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints, Hersey Road, Berlin.Burial will be made in the Hope Cemetery.There are no calling hours.Memorial contributions may be made to the Central Vermont Home Health and Hospice, 600 Granger Road Barre, VT 05641.The Hooker and Whitcomb Funeral Home, 7 Academy Street, Barre is in charge of the arrangements.
