Barbara May Agnew 1935-2015 Barbara May Agnew (nee Elliott) passed away peacefully on March 24, 2015 at the Kiwanis Nursing Home at the age of 79. Born in Saint John on March 31, 1935, she was a daughter of the late John and Mabel (nee Singer) Elliott, and the loving wife of 56 years to the late Ralph W. Agnew. Barbara is survived by daughters: Rose (Pete) Nicol and Hazel (Brian) Jacquard; step- sons: Jerry, Jimmy and Ed; 4 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild and her brother Wayne Elliott. Besides her parents and husband, Barbara was predeceased by her daughter Nancy Sharp; her sisters Evelyn and Hazel; and by her brothers Gordon, Jackie, Charlie and Donnie. Arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of Sussex Select Community Funeral Home, 21 Aiton Road, Sussex, 433-2133. As per Barbara’s wishes there will be no visitation or funeral service at this time. A graveside service will be held in Evergreen Memorial Gardens at a later date.
